It never involves violence and is rarely detected by the subject. Does that put you more at ease? ;)

No now I am really nervous

Zane, this photo just leaves me breathless. It's one of the most perfect uses of natural light...really a fabulous shot (I could go on....) And if it's with flash, it's the most natural use of flash I've ever seen...well done!

Thanks that means alot. It was natural light no flash:oops::oops:

Gonna a be a minute, Curt is playing Zane with a torch, so I'm setting up the tripod to do this myself.

May I suggest a fire extinguisher and map to the burn center?

Anyone ever notice that if you stare at that smiley for a bit, it looks like an earless rabbit? Wiggly nose. Nevermind.

Should I run out for munchies?

Ooo, sounds good.

Muddies are just sooo nice. The claws on them have some of the nicest flesh. Live these claws will easily break fingers if they get hold of them.

Hey, I see that you have the much sought after 40D. Thoughts? Critique?

Copied this from another post and have added a bit more.
Here's my first impressions. Overall I'm very happy so far. I needed a second body for back up so that's what the 30D is now. I didn't want to get a 5D just now but might buy the replacement a year or so down the track. Also I'm not a measurebator so please don't expect me to do that type of analysis.:p, I haven't used LiveView yet.

Controls

  • The buttons on top right have shuffled around and now seem in more natural positions. ISO is now closest to your index finger and you now use the front dial to control it. I like this more but it's going to be fun remember the different configs as I switch back and forth between the 40D and the 30D.
  • I Loooove the AF button already. Best of both worlds. On the 30D I'm 50/50 with the focus on the back buttons ie sometimes I use it that way other time I don't, it just depends on what I'm shooting. With the 40D both work at the same time, no one or the other.
Handling
  • Seems much the same. I do want to get the new grip for it ASAP though.Looks like the BG-E2N doesn't have a AF button from what I've read, so I'll probably just pick up a BG-E2, weather sealing is nice but not at the top of my list.
  • There is a notch on the front of the body for you middle finger to sit into.
Viewfinder.
  • Does seem a bit brighter and larger. I set two zooms at 100mm and swapped back and forth between them and could notice a difference.
  • ISO is easy to see in view finder and on top. Still getting used to seeing ISO always displayed.
Cable access
  • The covers on the left have changed for the better, at least this is what it seems like for now.
LCD
  • Very cool size wise.
  • Very easy to blur with face grease though. (oily skin s*cks)
Menus
  • I like the new menu system and have already set My Menu with the things I always use.
Images.
  • I haven't noticed a huge difference between the 30D and the 40D. The 40D colour looks a little more saturated. I didn't buy it expecting a great difference.
  • ISO 3200 is probably a little cleaner, not that I've done a side by side test. I shoot a lot of macro at ISO 400 to brighten up the background and I have noticed a it's slightly cleaner also. Nothing you can easily quantify, just gut feel from looking at the images.
  • Haven't played with the 6.5f/sec yet.

No.2 ISO3200 on the 40D under fluro lights and no flash. Ran it though Neat Image and CS2 and am happy with the result. Going to be a few cute photos of her over the next week or so, she lost a front tooth at the top and has a HUGE gap. The other one is loose also so I can't wait to get a shot when both are missing. Does look slightly red and rhat my fault.

Loved them all. If I had the $$, I'd buy them all and hang them up at work.

Great and yes another 3:45am wake up. It was a nice morning with a breakfast hosted for us afterword. This time of year there are a lot of bees. Leyla got stung twice, one of the times IN the ear.
