So im going to be vacationing in Malaysia/Singapore from 24th July to mid August. What if something happens to my 1dmkII and it does not work any more.

Whats my contingency PnS?

Which PnS will yeild best results compared to a DSLR?

Is need not be Canon, even a Nikon is fine if it has superior quality.

Hi;

FWIW - I recently bought my wife the new Panasonic Lumix 7Mp TZ3 and have been quite happy with the overall results. But, don't expect the same quality as you'll get from your 1D !

It's now already £75 cheaper than when I bought it just two months ago!

Cheers;

Lee

I have a G7 which is good for p&s but some PP is required to get the best from it. It's a little pricey though for what it is.

Luckily I got mine used (2 months old) and saved £120 ($240) from the cheapest I've seen on the Net so I'm not complaining.

As long as your expectations are in the right place, you'll enjoy the convenience of carrying a camera that you can slip into a pocket.
