For only $29 extra, I'd buy from my local store in a heartbeat.

I was going to buy from B&H but that's no longer an option. Everyone knows how reliable B&H is, especially with service.

Just being able to talk to someone , pick up product and look at it and take home is worth $30 . Not wondering who is delivering it , mailman , UPS , DHL , Fed-Ex and having to be home to get it is worth it not to mention the return hassles .
I have been to 3 camera stores and 3 big box [CC , best buy , Target] no one has a 50 mm @ 1.8 in stock . They can order it - I can order it - try finding a good camera bag you can touch and look at stitching , color , how tarnished closers are , can you put a shoulder strap on it - online . I don't need till September but still want now .
I've spent more than that on bridge tolls , gas and my time .
An object is only worth what you are willing to pay - but don't be surprised when you go back and they don't have it .
Be glad you don't have to push 1 for english , push 2 for sales , push 2 for new - then listen to all our service / sales people are busy - please hold for next salesman .
You might try a local camera club - but you are going to get used .

Many online stores accept Paypal, and 2 day shipping will get it to you by Monday as long as they ship in the morning, you would have to ask when ordering. Plus they may cut you a break on shipping overnight, etc. USPS priority on a Friday will definitely get it to you by Monday, so if that is an option, should be something you think about.

For example: http://www.tristatecamera.com/lookat.php?sku=CANEF5014 (external link)

Offers 2 day for around $20 and you can check out using Paypal, for a grand total of about $310 vs $360-70 with tax. Now the price difference is at the point you have to ask whether you want to use your local store or not.

Hell you'll probably save money if you need the lens so soon....if you bought it online you'd probably have to overnight it, which costs a crap load. So store could work nicely.

Seriously though, that extra small amount is worth the convenience of collecting it yourself, rather than the mailman bouncing it and being able to talk to the person selling it and possibly even taking it back for exchange. That is worth the extra, and I would pay it to keep my local shop in business because you might just need him one day.
