I have not shot a wedding since last summer due to starting another business (restaurant).

In march I was approached about shooting a wedding in July. I proposed something different to add value and stand out from the 5 other bids...... a website for the event with links to registrys, hotel, reception etc. in addition to the contracted online photo hosting. I hosted the domain with my regular host, the only ot of pocket cost being the domain registration. It is done with Wordpress and only took about 2 hours to put together. Response from the couple has been great. They plugged the site in the invitations giving me a boost for after wedding sales with all guests (in this case, they did pay for full rights to the pics and originals can be downloaded).

So far so good, I will definitely be doing this in the future.

Here it is LINK (external link)

The name AnotherArmstrongWeddng.com comes from the fact that the man is five of six kids. 5 down the aisle, one to go.

I offered customized websites to couples as a part of the wedding package. In two years, only one couple has ever taken me up on it. Yes, they were totally amped and stoked about it, but it was only one couple. The rest have their own little sites either making their own, using their ISP webspace, using myspace, or weddingannouncer.com.

So I stopped offering it altogether. At least in my area, the interest just wasn't there and it wasn't a selling feature. Actually, it became a freakin pain in the butt because I would often hear "can I drop the website and get $500 off?" Maybe it'll work for you but it was a bust for me.
