Hi all,
Thanks for all the replys on this forum, i have concluded to buy the canon 17-55is to take some pictures of our new baby.... I was looking at the hoya filter kit... would there be another filter kit more suitable for this lens?

I have stopped using filters on my lenes, other than a CP when needed, but if you look at one of the posts on this forum where a guy that rents out lenses opened a few of his 17-55's to clear the dust out, you will see that a filter will help prevent dust ingress. You won't find any significant difference in the better filters from those companies. I am sure there are other good manufacturers, but those are the ones I happen to have.
