Great work Glen.
You may want to adjust the levels a bit in the foreground image to fit in with the darker clouds background.
The lighting on the bird/cross looks a bit unatural now in my opinion.

Totally disagree, Dusty. The stronger lighting could be from a break in the clouds, a lightening bolt, or for that matter, a flash of all things. If the foreground is pushed into the darkness of the clouds, the whole shot would fill in and be very flat. The subtle contrast is excellent. And the fact that he didn't over contrast it is commendable.

Don't touch it, my friend. You've got a winner here.

And all you said was, "oh that's cool." Very constructive.

I believe what I said was, "moody storm clouds," which is what he did. I'm not trying to say he wouldn't have gotten there without my help. Lighten up man.

I didnt mean for it to be interpreted as an attack on you. Sorry you felt that way.

Did I tell you I am an Art Director? Not only did you take my advice, but you did a great job shooting the clouds. The shot is great. Nice job man.

From the looks of things seesponge, you seem to have a problem with the opinion of others.

Everyone here has the right to express their own opinion without someone like you jumping down their throat for it. You have done it now twice.

My guess is that it sounds like you will not like my opinons either, but as you said to someone else, Lighten up! Guess what, your opinon is not the only one and you might not always be right (maybe that is a shock to you).

I have a big problem with arogance and all of yout posts are coming across that way. The OP asked for comments, not for you to brag about yourself, or jump on others.

This forum is here for all to learn, not to take abuse from people of your ilk!

Honestly, I was just trying to help — which as you can see by the OP’s reply, he was grateful for that. I really don’t care what you think about me. My background is far more established than what I described by indicating I am an Art Director. I chose to leave it at that as to not seem arrogant. I will say this, I work with some of the highest acclaimed artists and retouchers in the country, so my advice shouldn’t be taken lightly — there’s a difference between arrogance and experience. If you don’t want it, then don’t use it. I don’t care. But don’t attack me for substantiating it before giving the advice. It has been my experience that people will better except criticism from a professional than an amateur and that is why I pointed out my profession. Not to “brag.” Believe me, I gain nothing by having people like yourself respect me.

I’m leaving this post. It’s not worth the aggravation. Sorry to all the others that had to read all of this. I will leave with this though: No one "learns" anything with "Cool shot" or "nice colors." Give some real input. As harsh as it may be, at least they'll learn something. If you suck, at least you'll know it. It only makes you stronger and work harder. There was a time where the tough love worked on me. And I'm grateful for it.

Enjoy zippy.

Yes this is two original photos to get one result, the result I intended to get when I took the first photo.

When does a photograph become digital art? Even before digital, photographs were spliced, overlaid, and manipulated a thousand different ways in darkrooms.

I guess you could argue that any photograph that receives post processing (probably 95% of the photos on these forums) has now become digital art. If you are using a digital camera, is every "photo" you take really digital art, and does it really matter? I don't have the answers, I am just glad I have the tools to develop what I see in my head.
