Outside of LR and PS, is there any other software you use for photo editing/effects?


Gear- 7d, 24-70L, sigma 70-200, Sigma 120-400, canon 50 1.4, Canon 100 2.0,sigma 10-20 and a DJI Mavic Pro Drone

To be honest, I did look around because CS3 was expensive. But I liked the possibilities of PS so much I didn't look anywhere else, bought a couple of books for technique and learning and bobs ya uncle!


EOS 6D, 135L, 24-105L, Mamiya RZ67pro2 and lenses :cool:

Paint Shop Pro X.

It may not be as powerfull as PS but it does everything I wanted it to and it's a lot more user friendly.

Besides, PS is extortionate and I wouldn't buy it out of principle.

I use:

DxO 4.5 for batch postprocessing and image cleanup
Paint Ship Pro V11 for editing and image manipulation
Image Resizer (Windows XP Power Toy) for batch resizing


Canon 80D, 60D, Canon 10-22EFs, 15-85EFS IS, Sigma 100-400, Sigma 135/1.8ART, Sigma 30mm f/1.4DC, Canon 60mm EFs Macro, Rokinon 8mm fisheye, 550EX flash, Olympus TG6 underwater P&S
Postprocessing: DxOLabs 5, DxO Viewpoint 3, Paint Shop Pro 2021

Irfanview or Piccasa if I want to be quick and just do basic stuff. Otherwise one of the PS versions depending on which computer I'm at.

GIMP. I think it's almost up to par with photoshop. And it doesnt cost anything.

Photofiltre studio version..works in layers and even reads .PSD files from photoshop...you can try the studio version free for 30 days...does raw and everything..there is a free version too but just for jpeg..all their plugins are free also and works in studio version.
