1 and 3 for me as well.

Tried this with a raindrop the other day. Set the tripod up, focussed and found I couldn't hold the flower in the optimum position and trigger the shutter release.

Got out the remote cable, refocussed and... the wind blew putting the shot way out of focus.

Steadied the branch with my hand, and managed to tap the tripod leg with my foot. Went back to the viewfinder to check composition and was just about to go when the wind dislodged a load of drops from the branches above which cascaded onto my leaf and destroyed the dewdrop.

You guys have my admiration. It isn't as easy as it looks...

Thanks everyone glad you like them :-)

Dreamline: I tried with my tripod the other day and it was more trouble then it was worth, these are all handheld using the rock to and fro method one handed and the other holding the flower in the background.

Lovely set of shots.

Composition of #1 is very pleasing to the eye, my only distraction is the bottom of the flower on the left is missing (but the amount of times I do that, I cant talk LOL LOL).

I know it bugged me Linda but it was hand held and one hand was fully streched hold a flower behind and I couldn't fit the whole darn thing in the shot :-( I will have to advertise for an assistant :-)

I suppose we shouldn't complain. At least those of us who are still online obviously haven't been flooded out by this awful weather like so many in the UK currently. So, despite some very nice shots, Alby, I can't get overly enthusiastic about yet more water....

Yeah some people are getting it real bad and you can only feel for them. Why do people still keep coming to this country, can't be for the weather thats for sure.

Thanks Mark and yes they are my digits and also in #1. I don't know how you get on as I had one hand holding that camera and the other with the flower and after about 2 seconds my camera hand was shaking like an earthquake :-( kudos to you buddy for the shots you get one handed.

Hiya Alby,

I read the ' Kama Sutra ' & became inspired

Seriously though it's 27 yrs since I chopped my Paw off & my hand is so strong now that the weight of a tiny thing like a camera is nothing ( to me )

When I was contract Felling a few yrs back I used to use a 24" Husqvarna chainsaw one handed most of the time until H&S got wind of things & I had to make an adaption for my False Arm

I had an interesting incident one time during an arm wresting contest as I broke a blokes hand badly!!

This big bruiser of a chap decided that as he was ' King of the Castle ' & he would challenge me, I wasn't really interested but he started gobbing off at me so I took up the challenge as you do & I crushed it with my grip funny now but at the time not so.

My probs not on the strength side, it's these tremors I get, sometime I can't even get a cuppa to my mouth unless it's half full, still I've had & am still having a fun life so I can't complain, well not much eh

Cheers for now
Mark

Blimey Mark, if we ever meet up I'll greet you with a pat on the back then :-D
I think will should have a southern meet maybe a weekender photo shoot bug hunt camp in the new forest say Friday - Sunday, A jolly snappers outing with bug shooting daytime, BBQ beer and lots of chat and tips and moth hunt at night, with lots more chat and stories of woe.
Could be an annual meet.
