Was lucky enough to be covering the Cubs/Giant game yesterday.

Here are 752 and 753 respectively - the first shot with a 400, and the second with a 70-200 + 1.4X TC.

My 1D MkII N is all hosed up, with the exposure system going goofy, so I'm having to expose everything manually - not just shooting in M, but using a handheld light meter to input into the camera. Even the histogram doesn't seem to be accurate.

Lighting on 752 was dark, foggy, and very light, intermittent drizzle. 753 was shot under bright sunshine coming from behind home plate.

Kinda fun to see this event. I tentatively have credentials for one game this weekend in Milwaukee, so we'll see if Barry stays "on" and my luck holds out.

Wow, what a cool opportunity to capture a piece of history Dennis. The 70-200 with TC did very well in that shot. The 400 almost has a 3D effect to it.

Thanks for sharing and good luck in the Milwaukee game :). I know there will be very few folks there cheering for Barry in Hammerin Hank's old stomping grounds.

Have a great day

nice shots, man. exposure is perfect, even in the highlights. great colors. framing in the second is great. timing a little slow, but can't have everything - his swing must go by pretty darn fast. thanks for posting these.

Nice shots. Sorry about the camera.

If Bonds hits one out against my Brewers he'll sit until they get back to SF. Can you imagine breaking the record and getting booed all the way around the bases? Ick...

Dennis...if you need any help down on the field just give me a shout. I'm an 1:45 away. Have camera....will travel... :)

Excellent shots. I hope they walk him for the rest of his career. That i think would give him his due. But great crisp capture.

Nice shots, Dennis.

I see Barry's still chewing, quite the role model for the youngsters out there.

Jason Kendall's going to end up with a broken right hand if he keeps leaving it in front of his knee like that. There was a similar shot of him in today's Bright One( the newly self-described Liberal news outlet here in town) doing the same thing.

C'mon, everyone knows they shoot up in the butt, didn't you read Canseco's book?

Everyone - thanks for the kind words. I was lucky enough to be there and just had to smash the shutter. Bonds did most of the work...

Actually, Barry fancies himself as quite the photographer from what I understand. I've seen several image where he has borrowed a pro' camera during a game.

I might be lucky again this weekend as I have credentials for Saturday' Brewers/Giant game and perhaps Sunday''s game as well.

Shot the Cubs/D-Backs game today. Go Cubs, Go.

My MkIIN is still acting up. CPS now tells me they can only give me a loaner once they receive my camera, but they fail to understand that I need the loaner to cover the period when my camera is at CPS. They normally turn these things around so quick, by the time I get my loaner, I won't need it anymore. Talking to them three times on the phone today did no good.

Anyway, thanks for looking.

Great shots as usuall Dennis. How was the trip?

We are going to actually be in your neck of the woods shooting Lacrosse tomorrow and Sunday.

Had to give up my seats for Sundays game to do the shooting in Chicago.

Have fun and hopefully it won't be as warm, plus maybe they can get the roof closed this time if something comes up.

I've seen those pics of Barry with a camera a lot, though never shot any of his games...would like to though. Very nice shots here as usual.

CPS gave me the same crap one time as well, so on routine cleaning I make sure to send it in while I already have a loaner on schedule to arrive. That didn't help me earlier this year when my body bombed in ST, they gave me the same line and only if it took longer than 3 days, so thats 4-5 days before they'd even send one.

PS: You're all wrong... LET's GO METS!!:p
