I have a few places where I purchase frames, mattes, etc. online, but none of them will ship glass -- only plexiglass.

Does anyone know of an online supplier or a type of business I may be able to find locally that sells glass for picture frames?

I must have been searching for the wrong terms, for I'd always end up finding places that sold Auto Glass. Thanks.

i just typed in glass at yellowpages.com. and went throug all of them. most were auto. but when i lived in NC. the auto place sold other kinds of glass too. so i thought maybe they would be worth a call.
have a great weekend.

When I was looking for glass to make a photo water tank out of I went to a framing shop and found that they had glass there pretty cheap. I bought a large sheet of it fairly reasonably (as compared to glass shops) and they cut it to the size I wanted. It turned out to be too thin (picture frame glass is fairly thin) to make the water tank so I used it for other things. But check for framing shops and check their prices out.

I can frame and mat so I bought a box of 11x14 glass (50 pieces) from a frame shop. It is not hard to cut the glass to what you need. Scary at first, but then it's easy.

I found this place online: FramingSupplies.com (external link)

They sell a box of 11x14 (47 lites) for $29.95. I called my local glass shop (thanks to ShannyD) and they said 47 pieces would be $338.40. I think I'll be calling FramingSupplies.com.
