I've never even started up Bridge, ever. Some day I'll be brave and click that icon but until then I'd just thought I'd ask you guys; since I'm using Lightroom is there any need at all for Bridge? I use Irfanview as a "jpg viewer" btw.

Jul 21, 2007 01:00 | #5 The reason I ask is because I remember Chris Orwig mention in his Lynda.com Lightroom tutorial that LR doesn't replace neither PS (which I assumed was correct) nor Bridge (which I thought was odd, from my understanding of the program) but that they all complement eachother. He even drew some artsy triangle visually showing the connection, if I remember correctly. ~ BORN FREE - TAXED TO DEATH! ~

I hardly use LR these days, only for some batch processing. I'm using Bridge all the time for browsing, keyworking, and as a 'bridge' into Photoshop for editing. Bridge/Photoshop seems to work a lot faster for me, but my 'output' is low. Perhaps 1 > 2 photos per week (i.e. I am a snapshot hobbyist, not a pro/wedding photographer) andrew crighton

I would miss it was it not part of the Creative Suite (in my case, Creative Suite 3 Design Premium).

I use LR to do my keywording and keeping track of the photos. If I have to edit an image I tend to do so using adjustment layers so photoshop is still an integral part of my workflow. LR is great addition to my workflow but it doesn't replace the other components. My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.
