my first try in this using a Canon S2IS...

Almost there. Very nice subject with nice aesthetic placement and good exposure. The background lets it down though - you could do without that black diagonal.

yeah... i realised that too... but it's becoz of the angle of the flower... and if i'm gonna stretch out more... i believe i'll fall off a 15th storey building... the thing is i try tp PS it... but in the end i gave up...

It's well-expoed, very sharp, and nicely-lit. As others have pointed out, you need a better background. As it's mostly dark anyway, why not put a piece of black card or velvet behind the flower? Then you've got a pic to be proud of.
