Payed a visit to another local club today [Clevedon Town Fc] for their 2nd pre-season friendly against Dagenham & Redbridge. This is my 2nd attempt at shooting footie so i would very much appreciate C&C or any tips..... My 1st attempt only got one comment so maybe i can get a bit more participation in this thread?

Anyway, here we go.... all shot with 30d & 70-200 IS, @ f/4 SS between 1000 & 2500 - some as you'll see have been cropped.

i leave it on in position 2 for sport and seems to be fine for me. i toyed with whether to save money and go for the non-IS but in the end i decided i'd rather have the option to turn it on if needs be..... i'll take a look at your post now.

No 5 for me is the strongest image in the selection. Could get technical and say cut off hands and feet but the image is usable.
Nice and sharp, good colour (on my kit!). Watch the horizon, like in 4, and I'm not a fan of players backs. Faces make photo's stand out and I think the guy in No9 needed to be picked out, did he get the ball from his mate?
The venue here has helped as your choice of position has given you a pretty good backdrop.
Second attempt! look forward to seeing more

Shaun

I agree that # 5 is the strongest shot IMHO. Good peak action and facial expression in spite of amputated extremeties.

I would like to see these shot from a lower perspective as it appears you were standing upright and shoot a little looser & then crop.

Another positive is that the exposure is pretty good on these.

Regards,
Jeff
