Haha, amazing shots Brian. Love the focus achieved on it's head, woudn't of been easy with that beast continually lunging at you!

Both excellent shots, but with the front legs in better focus, I love #2, The composition, camera angle, focus are dead on. Great work Brian.

Good shots, and as has been said, that must have been some work on something as rapidly moving as an ant.

Great shot,the little fellows are to quick for me at the moment still working my way to getting some good captures of an ant.

Thanks for the comments - not as difficult as you seem to think. I put a lump of the vitamin C/colour enhancing paste I make for my fish on a low wall to see if any bugs might be attracted to it. next day after a rain storm these ants were feeding on it but were obviously getting a bit messy and were cleaning themselves after feeding on it.

I think #2 is my personal favourite. I have thought about putting out 'bait' but haven't got round to trying it. Looks like it works pretty well.

Just some sugar solution on a waterproof surface works better for ants- but don't put it in a container- they tend to drown themselves.
