Common Darter

Here's a common darter from my local pond on thursday the sun came out so I made the most of it spent all day out
the darters have started showing in more numbers now hopefully we will get a break in the weather so they get a chance to breed

using different radiuses of your desired sharpening method. starting with a big radius then working down.

looking good, noticing what you said, what weather conditions would they breed the best in?

They much prefer warm sunny days with little or no wind, both to fly/feed and find their mate. The weather in the UK since the beginning of May has been somewhat inclement with just a few brighter spells inbetween. I have concerns for the reproduction of dragonflies in the UK this summer and suspect that in the next 2 to 3 years we may see a huge decline in numbers for the year of their emergence.

Icpete: A beautiful photo - an even bigger treat to see pics of them this summer as they are few and far between at the moment. The re-work on the photo certainly just lifted it a little.
