My first thread in a while...haven't had a chance to get downtown in a while what with the newborn and all :p

I ran the lomo action on the first one but I think it needs the same B&W treatment as #2....I think the lomo look just doesn't fit this shot. Sort of blends the subject in with everything else.

Working on a few more as well :) Thanks for looking, feels good to finally get back out there and shoot.

Tried shooting from the hip the whole trip, worked out pretty well and was a lot of fun :D Broke in the new grip for the XTi as well, great add-on...really completes the camera....

I like 'em. But in the first one I would have composed the shot a little more to the right. Enough to take away part of the door frame and to include a little more of the mannequin on the right. But I like 'em.

It occurred to me yesterday that I was happy. I mean that at that moment, alone, doing nothing in particular... I realized I was smiling, and all things considered... life was good.

Now I bring this up because in your second portrait I sense that moment. Here is a happy moment. He's alone for the time... Yet I know he's not alone. That he's got support, care, love. And here he's a boy, doing a boy thing and it's joyful. Yep, you've captured it... That's how people should feel. You've imagined a universal wish.... Happy.

Thanks for sharing...

Ted

Thanks everyone for looking and commenting. Not my best work by far but I'm just happy to have gotten out and tested the sigma in an urban setting....

see this thread for the photoshop action (lomo) for the first shot....it's a really good, creative CS2 action....my shot above really doesn't do it justice :) https://photography-on-the.net …omo+action+download+ready
