Hey folks,

Went down to Chippawa tonight to scout out the location for a model shoot I'm doing there in the a.m. and here are some of the more detail oriented shots I took for fun.

C&C welcome, especially on the B&W conversion. I am working on some new PP techniques, and would love to hear your thoughts!

Also, here is an alternate angle on #5 - which do you like better?

Thanks Justin, appreciate the comments :)

The decision between the 2 angles is killing me! I wanna do up a print of this shot, but can't decide. It's really tough.

Oh, we were out for maybe an hour and a half. I've got a whole bunch others, I just chose 10 to put up. I'm going to export them all to a web gallery once I'm finished with the others.

I'd say I've got about 90-100 keepers from the night.

That's awesome! I get a little too picky with my shots... I guess I need to be a bit more spontaneous with the shots. The heart shaped rock is a gem though!

See I'm very picky as well, I'm just picky in what I shoot, as opposed to culling afterwards. I like to envision the shot before I even put the camera to my face. Quite often I'll just walk around without my camera then come back afterwards.

I typically have my PP in mind way before I take the shot too. I find that it allows me to prepare for the end-product right away.

See, I love the heart-shaped rock shot, I was just afraid that it would go unnoticed unless pointed out. I thought about doing a bit of selective coloring and maybe some warping of the rock to make it look more like a heart, but, I don't know.

I imagine shots too... just need to find the subjects to help out with them.

As far as the heart-shaped rock, I think it's pretty good as-is. It doesn't look deliberately set in place. I can't see the selective coloring working on this.

Yeah, I am not a fan of selective coloring. This is why I am hesitant to do it. I'll probably leave it.

Here is an "overall" shot of one side of the river I was shooting at:

Nope, actually, the shots of the "I <3 U" was taken on a patch of sand/water that was like 5 feet long by 2 feet wide.

No need to point out the heart shaped rock. It jumped at me. I had to dodge in order to avoid getting hit ;) Oh, and nice photos overall! I'm just not too fond of #1 and #7. Can't really tell what's going on and it get a little busy, out of context.
