Hey everybody, I'm here in Japan and I've gotta say it's pretty awesome. This is my first time leaving the states since I was like 5 years old, so I'm excited to be here and to share my story. My girlfriend will be doing the blog entries, and I'm providing the pictures.

They're not artsy or anything, just basically shooting away, but I hope you enjoy them anyway.

Are you shooting a lot of these shots from your hip?

yep they're pretty blurry for a great lens like that!

I see you found how difficult it is to capture a decent sky shot at this time of year, I was there about six weeks ago, managed some with blue sky but not many.

Also because your point of view is a little low and you can't be that short! LOL I'm mainly talking about your candids--I used to shoot from the hip a lot when walking around in downtown because I didn't want to get jumped by people. :) A lot of people don't like it when you don't have their permission to take their pictures.

The candid shots of the Harajuku girls were from my hip... well, actually they were from my girlfriend's hip. As for the pictures being soft, most of these shots are taken very quickly with little attention to detail. People are always on the move... it's hard to stop for more than a second to take a picture.
