Joined the Club also!

Just got myself a brand new D30. Bought from a local store (I'm in Philippines!) for 130,000 pesos - that's about US$ 2,600! But with no free microdrive and etc. Still cheap as it was! Canon Philippines is selling the D30 for US$3,200!

This is my second one! The first one I got the other day, I found out was a used one, as it fired off with IMG_101 at the first shot. Hah, called the store and they promptly exchanged! As far as I can tell the replacement is new, camera wrapping un-opened, no fingerprints whatsoever. Still I noticed some very small marks (nicks!) on the lens mount! Is this normal on a brand new cam? I assume Canon tested the cameras, so the reason.

I must say though, the Philippine prices are a bit extreme. I have a trip to Manila next week. If anyone wants me to bring a camera (or lens) for them just send me a pm.

Good point! I didn't even notice the date! No wonder the D30 was so expensive.
