This was actually the kit lens that came with my 30d. I believe its 28-135mm lens..

great first shot, although you need to start being aware of your backgrounds in your pics, this one is distacting to the point of my eye being drawn to that first and not the butterfly (composition) But great first attempt and welcome to the forum.

Hiya Chomish,

A great start & welcome also no one will laugh at you, as Skylab says we all have start somewhere & if my first shot were half as good as this I'd have been a very happy chappie !!
Stick at it loadsa practice, loadsa tears, frustration but when you get that first spot on shot it'll all be worth it.

One word of warning find yourself a good rehab centre as addition to Macro is massive :lol:

Nothing to laugh at there- very good first attempt (I can still remember mine-it wasn't near that good!) You positioned yourself in the right spot to get the whole subject in good focus. Nice shot!
