hello everyone. well i shot this moth today. using my flash since it was still early morning. download it and notice the top of the moth is pretty bright. is this from my flash? thanks for any input.

Thats tough shooting white, I always underexpose by -2/3 to a full stop and use PhotoShop to bring the shot back to a decent level. Alby

LordV Macro Photo-Lord of the Year 2006 More info | Jul 24, 2007 14:42 | #4 As Alby says- not a diffuser problem (that's normally bright reflections) but an overexposure problem. If you are using flash and have a light object against a darker background you will probably need to dial in -ve FEC (flash exposure compensation) by about -2/3rds and do the reverse when you have a dark subject against a light background (ie +2/3 FEC). http://www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/
