KEH have an "EX+" Chubby listed at $5.2k.
In the last couple of years, that's pretty much a record high for them.
Either way, the Chubbies continue to appreciate in their resale value.

I'd venture a guess it will last up to a week before someone snatches her up.

There's always somne eeejit ready to slap down cash on anything. I give it 8 days and sale likely to take place around 3.16pm (that's local time rather than GMT).

The lens is still there.
To my knowledge, the highest price a 200 f/1.8 fetched was $5.9k a couple of months ago. A ten year old lens.
That copy was like new, totally blemishless with no evidence of any use (based on detailed photos).

Damn that is a lot of money for a old 200mm. I know it is a good lens but that is just plumb crazy. More than a new 300 2.8 IS and close to a new 500 4 IS. ???

I think it's a collector item...just like the 50/1.0L...It's well worth the price to some people...Not me tho :)

KEH is one of the most expensive (reputable) sources of used gear.
I reckon a lens in that condition could have been obtained recently from Chamcamera for about $4.4k.

Alas, it seems that the Chamcamera's sources of the Chubbies have been drying up.
