Peacock butterfly series taken at Eglwys Nunydd Reservoir lunchtime today. Sun was shining for a change! C & C welcome.

Incidentally, Eglwys Nunydd Reservoir is very close to the Kenfig National Nature Reserve that has the largest population of the rare Fen Orchid (Liparis loeselii) in the UK,

What a lovely Butterfly.#2 is a super shot and just smashing colors. Not seen any yet thanks for sharing Ray.

Hi Ray great series I saw a few of these on when I went out thursday morning, I did not manage any shots as good as these though, I never got close enough, I'm no good at stalking !

Keep trying Pete - do what Ray has done and look for nectaring individuals. Once they get busy you can get close.
If this stunning butterfly was scarce, people would flock from all over to see them. Round about now, when this years adults are emerging they are in their prime.
