So, here I am eating my Dreyers fruit bar (strawberry flavored) and perusing POTN like I often do when I should be asleep and what do I see?... a thread about Belmondo... entertaining yes.. so, I read down... there's a post from Dave, amusing as usual but, i'm starting to get a little cautious of the British sense of humor.. and then there's Moppie.. with a signature under his name... All I can think of is that this is one of those things that makes perfect sense for everybody else but............... okay, anybody give me a hint..

'nissed as a pewt'... I understand two words in that sentence.. one of them is 'as' and the other one is 'a'... the other two???... help a girl out.... anybody please?....

Fairly common to say pissed as a newt...very much like drunk as a skunk...and if you are really plastered....you might just end up nissed as a pewt.

this is very ironic. I was taking a hike today and took a picture of a newt. I just looked down and spotted it in the middle of a giant forest. Now there is a thread about it! weird.

Sari ... I believe yer languaging skills are drying up through lack of exposure to alternative modes. You need to free you mind to appreciate the multi-layered opportunities waiting within communication forms. I suggest first you take the Cockney Rhymin' slang 101 and then the Ali G 101. This will keep ya amused and engaged for quite some time and help rid you of that potato fueled, redneck drawl you have acquired :-)
