Been trying to experiment with Photomatix, here's some of the results from my trip up the coast last week.

1. Mussenden Temple. Built on the cliffside overlooking the sea.

HAAAAA Thank you for posting Dunluce Castle. I have a bunch of photos of it and could NOT remember the name!!! lol

I really like how all of them turned out Watsy!! Where are the structures in 1 and 3 in relation to Dunluce? I never saw them while I was there.

You may not remember but there is a "castle" to the east of Dunluce.. It's basically 3 or 4 stones that are still standing but somehow they call it a castle... Was it Ballycastle or something like that? You know what I'm talking about?

Hi theague. 1 & 3 are reasonably close to Dunluce, it wouldn't take long to reach by car. From Dunluce go towards Coleraine then head towards Castlerock & Downhill, you'll find 1 & 3 at Downhill. It's a National trust site so it should be sign posted ok.

If you have a map to look at just travel west along the north coast from the Giants Causeway & you'll see Downhill on the A2 from Coleraine just before you reach Lough Foyle.

Yes there's a Ballycastle which is further east round the coast from Dunluce. I can't remember the 3 or 4 stones though, will have to look out for them next time I'm up that way.

Glad you liked them.

Is it just me, or does anyone else notice that there are halo's around the buildings (good examples of this can be seen in the first and last pictures). I've noticed this quite a bit in HDR images. Is this isolated to Photomatix, or all HDR pictures in general?

Its determined by how the user makes adjustments. I strive to avoid the haloing going for a more natural looking result.

I like this set and you can definitely see some haloing in some of the pics. I like the compositions tho. Looks like a beautiful place.

I'm glad you mentioned this, it's definately not just you that noticed it. I seen it when I was working with the images & I would much prefer it wasn't there. On other images I had it was worse than those I've posted.
Like I said earlier though, I've just started toying with Photomatix so I'll have fiddle again later & see how much I can remove it as I'd prefer as natural looking images as possible.

Wonderful shots with very interesting skies! First one is very "centered" but I think it works that way to give it an even stronger presence. These are definitely some of the best hdr's I've seen.

Very nice start. These are some of the most "real" looking HDR's I've seen yet (you can tell something is a bit different in the lighting/tones, but it's not obvious as in other examples of HDR's), and prefering things to look more real, well, I like these!

Ilike sturcture HDRs really brings out the details. Nice work! Did you buy the stand alone or the PS add on? I'm looking into Photomatix at this time.

I got the stand alone version after trying the trial for a bit.
