I don't know exactly other than the new EOS 1D MarkIII has it. It's a new RAW format that is much smaller and lossless.
sRAW file format (2.5-megapixel lossless file)

That's about all I could find out!

Well hopefully the 30d price will go do a lil more in the used market now. Sell my xt and get the 30d.

That would be a good move as the 30D is an awesome camera!

if true then I would be disappointed by the fact that even it doesn't have weather sealing. even nikon has it in the D200.

However I am using a 10D and I think this would be an nice upgrade.

I can't wait for this piece to come out! Hopefully a bigger upgrade compared to 20D-30D upgrade.....

I'm selling my 20D soon, then I will be camera less, well except for a P&P. :P I just hope this thing shows up earlier.

The 1600 ISO doesn't make sense. The 30D is 3200 max. I am sure that is a typo.

No. Specs even now say iso100-1600 expandable to 3200 (because 3200 is fake)

in my opinion the 10mp would be good only with Digic 3, if not too much noise.
The 6.25 fps is ok I guess and the 3" lcd would be good but if it's a bit brighter.

I guess if the high ISO was a tad better I would get it.

I will consider it if it can give me a "usable" ISO higher than 400.

man, i wish it would come with weather sealing...but then it means i would need more L's... the camera is only weather sealed when both the body and the lens have the sealing

With those specs and the lens specific micro focus adjustment I would be in all the way.

would be even sweeter if i pick up another xt that has a broken shutter for cheap and repair to workign condition and then sell it too. :D

I hope these specs are right and are the only "big" improvements, because then I would not at all be tempted to swap my 20D for a 40D, and can make a bigger jump straight to the 5DII :)

So much for the 40D (if specs are true). Looks like i'll be waiting for the 30D price drop so I can pick it up at an even better price. Its 999.99 now... maybe $899.99 when the 40D is released? Time will tell.

Well, that is what I was thinking. However, I don't see it happening. You can still buy 20D's for $895.00 (Beach). So, I don't see the price dropping too much more on the 30D. Maybe another $50 when the 40D announcement is official. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the 30D now.
