Intresting... Will have to keep an eye on this thread, I use LR quite a bit some presets for import might be nice without having to create them myself.

It is so easy to make and save your own presets I cannot imagine paying someone for theirs. If you watch one of the videos he is using the auto functions alot. This is not rocket science but if someone wants to pay for them more power to David Jay for devising a scheme to capitalize on.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Yeah, I was playing with Lightroom a lot more last night.

Sidequestion:

How is it that the same preset makes different changes on different pictures (in the same lighting environment)

That was actually pointed out in the video as well.

From what I found last night you simply make changes to a picture

then you can save all those changes (just the changes) into one file, a new 'User Preset'

and voila! new preset that can be applied to any other picture.

The "Auto" adjustments do their adjustments based on the data in the current photo. So an "Auto" adjustment for one image will be different from an "Auto" adjustment on another image.

So how does he (in the video) get his preset to create the same effect but by making different adjustments?

I'm not sure if that's clear LOL

LOL

ok, how about this:

You make a slider change of -12 in contrast and bingo you have a new preset.

You apply this new preset to another pic and it gives you the same effect but when you look at the slider it says -8.

That is the type of thing that was being shown in the video .

No it's because he used "Auto" settings. So "Auto Contrast" for example. In one photo, it would analyze the data and then decide what Contrast to give it. It woudl do the same for the next photo but wouldn't necessarily apply the same #.
