Sure does look like a 50's b movie shot. I like it very good.

Hi Trevor :) Thanks a lot ...... I love these little guys ..... There are thousands of them out back, and I am usually smiling on my walks as they really are curious and seemingly unafraid of people... I often have them walk right up and stare while I am sitting.. I am always interested to hear most people talk about how difficult a time they have getting close to them..... The Anoles here are easy to catch as they don't usually run away..... I have saved a few young ones from the bigger ones just by grabbing the two of them at the same time :) Freeing the little ones, giving them a chance to bugger off before letting the bigger ones go :) :)..... They also bring lots of Green Herons into the yard so It is the best of both worlds :)... I think Anoles are the Green Herons favorite snack food ;)..... That was a winded one wasn't it ?? :) :) I guess it is obvious I get a kick out of them too ..... Take care

Good shots. The tiny scales make me wanna get closer. I wanna see the details around the head and especially the eyes. You just need a couple of feet of extension tubes, no problem ;) And if you try to compensate with a stronger flash you might incinerate the little fellow which would leave no room for error. Ignore me.

@LordV, ah.. memories of Raquel Welch and her heaving bosoms, battling with lizards with bits stuck onto them, and to hell with the geological records.

Hi Allan Thanks for the nice comment on these... The Anoles here in Nasssau are very trusting, of people... I am thinking they may look at us as keeping them safe..... They know the Green Herons and Kestrals aren't going to nail them if they are right next to us :) :)... I really do have oppurtunities all the time with these guys..... I do love seeing them displaying their chin flag.... I have quite a few shots of them posturing :D :D I thought they did it to attract the chicks :) :) Good information..... I do have the Canon 180 for my main macro lens... I am not certain I should have spent the additional money over the Sigma 150 but it is a great lens..... Thanks again Allan ..... I hope your Anoles start being a little nicer and trusting you more..... I'm lucky to have such trusting little guys running around here..... Take care

Great shots of this little character, I'm surprised you got as close as you did, when they see me they disappear fast.
However I did get one, one time with his little territorial display/ Chin flag, pretty cool.
Your colors are great, which 180mm lens was that you were using, I am hazarding a guess at the Canon one.
Great detail.
