Anybody out there using dual monitors to do your photoshop on?? I don't like the small workspace I end up with while using one monitor . I've see two set up before but have no idea where to start in setting up a system like that...Special video card I would suspect...and what about the soft ware...supported by what versions of PS??? Help!..any good reading or links on the subject..or hints??

when i did a lot of web dev in college i used 3 19" screens. I would totally suggest a program called Ultramon (external link).

Once you go multi, you never go back.

Space contraints are keeping me to one now until I get the new office space done,. for now I am using one.
I like two for photo editing work, as I keep toolabrs and any other tasks on a second monitor and leave the 24" monitor just for the photo,.

Windows XP (and Vista, I presume) supports dual monitor systems. All you really need is the right video card.

It is really nice to be able to view your image on one monitor and move all your tool pallettes to the other one.

However, one big monitor might be as useful as two smaller ones. I'm using dual 17" monitors now, but considering an upgrade. I might just go with one bigger monitor.

Yeah, but I'm not trying to monitor 17 "chat" threads, and the G&N section, all at the same time. ;)

Ok...I guess it's all do-able and somewhat simple...I'm leaning towards my 19 inch for task bars and a 22 inch wide screen for the photo work space ...I thought I needed a dual video card but I guess all I need to do is install another single along with the onboard video that came on my motherboard..???

Thanks for aall the responses folks...

Dual monitors usually end up with more real estate than one large one.
For example, when I ran dual 19" CRT's, I had each set at 1600x1200 for a total desktop of 3200x1200

the Dell 30" come out to 2560 x 1600.

Here is my 23" and 15". I won the 15" on Ebay for $40 and it works perfect. When I need lots of space, I use it for tool palettes, iTunes, stuff like that.

I use a 20inch and a 15inch. I wish I had at least two 20 inches, but I do with what I can. :D
