Hello,

I am not sure how to call it, but is there a process that "reads" a picture's levels and you can then apply those levels to another picture?

For example, taking a color-wise, contrast-wise great picture's levels and apply them to another picture to try and correct it?

The reason I am asking is because there is a plugin for audio mastering software that reads the levels and you can then apply to your track and it brings your track to similar mastered qualities.

cheers

Not sure if what you are asking can be done but ..... I have taken an action apart in PS and saved the curves setting of it and loaded the same settings again and used it on another photo.

There's a match color tool, but I don't think it matches brightness.

You can use the match color tool. There is a slider to adjust luminance and another for fade. After you load your source image you can play with these to tune it. Kinda works. It's not something you can save and load from image to image and magically make 'em all good.

If YOU took a series of shots & use Adjustment Layers to make the changes, then you could drag those layers into a new pic from that series & see the same result.
In PS7, go to Layers > New Adjustment Layers / levels, curves, etc.
