my first "dragan" band photo

I've been trying to do some cool effects on live concerts shots, hdr didn't give me anything nice so I tried the dragan effect..

this is my first try..

what are your thought?

It kills the cuteness out of that band for sure, but I think it might be a great process for Metal bands!

Thanks, I'll look at the orton effect! never heard of it before (I'm still new to pp and photography as well...)
I'm mostly looking a PP pointers over critiques, until I get better ;)

The first image makes the singer look very dirty so I like the second image better.
