I just happened to take my camera into my local yesterday, and one of the staff started chatting - asking if I was into photography etc...blah blah blah

Says to me "would you be interested in buying some bits?"

I think a relative had died or something, and he'd ended up with some bits n pieces that he had no use for and wanted to get rid of.

I got myself a Benbo Heavy duty Tripod (£127 new?) & a Manfrotto tilt & pan head (£45.??)

£20 !!
Bargain eh.
Very pleased, and I honestly didn't know what any of this was worth, although I saw the Manfrotto name, and new that that was quality.

What you all reckon?

Lucky you indeed.

I got a friend at work that went to a garage sale the other day and picked up a nifty fifty for $1.00. Perfect condition.

That kind of thing never happens to me. :)

Local. £20. I would have asked if it had bounced when it fell off the back of the lorry.

Not nicked Anke - A genuine case.

The guy was going to dump it all - Had a carrier bag with some other odds n sods in.
I also got a tokina 28 - 70 3.5 zoomie as well, but think it may be a Nikon fit.

I'll have to take a photo of the lens fitting, and post it - someone will identify it.
Looks like Canon, but the electrical connections are off set to all mine.
