Very nice shots. A little hard to see the depth on the first one.


Gear: Powershot S3, Raynox DCR-250 macro, Raynox DCR-2020PRO tele, CHDK for RAW-output, cardboard, paper, aluminum foil, tape, glue, an icecream pack and a little imagination :)

Fritillaries can be incredibly active when nectaring. Their heads almost vibrate as they dig into the flower, and this has led to my taking quadzillions of fuzzy head/forewing shots. So WD on getting one! I think the head on the RA is a little back from the focus point.

They used to be fairly common around here, but I've only seen 2 this year, with no successful captures.
