And here's part two. Lots of cool insects out today. As always, click on the shots for their full-res versions.

1. Is this a lacewing larva?

2. I know that this one is a lacewing larva:

3. A small spider, stacked from two shots

4. A shield bug (I think) with lots of nasty hotspots on his head. Darn reflective exoskeleton ;)

5. A HUGE ant

6. A ladybug larva (I think)

7. And a very, very orange fly (dolichopodid, maybe?)

Wow, amazing set there. Very nice lighting and exposure. The larvae look so cool but the ant is definitely my favourite.

Wonderful series AB :)
Not sure about ID of #1- certainly something in the same family as lacewings if not a lacewing.
The ladybird larvae looks like a harlequin assuming it was fairly big.
Think the fly is a picture wing fly- Tephritid.

Great series. I might be wrong, but I believe the 1st one is a brown lacewing larva and the 2nd one is a green lacewing larva :)
