Hiya All,

Found this one under some Pine Trees nearby so I'm thinking it's
' Liparus glabrirostris ' from the description in my book.

Hi Mark. Dark and shiny is always a problem, particularly with an on camera flash. With natural light you can sometimes tame the reflections with a polarizer. That said, I don't find the reflections bothersome in this case.

A while ago, I did my first and only product shots. I was getting a reflection on the wine bottle that I wanted to eliminate. I called a buddy who is an accomplished food photographer. He told me that I can work to limit the reflection with my lighting and a polarizer, but I'd best learn to make the reflection work in the picture because its nearly impossible to eliminate without extraordinary steps.

Now that was an overly long way of saying I liked the pic. Good shot. Too bad you clipped one of the antennas though.

The Detail coulda been a load better but the little beggar was on the run at the time of shooting plus my stupid shakes didn't help, that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it :o:lol:


The surface it's on is an old Gravestone at the foot of a Scots Pine, I think it was in a desperate hurry to find some cover
