Great shot RM - I find it quite difficult to see any great improvement in noise removal with NI there - the results from the MK3 are superb!:)

Do you think it is an immature male Common Hawker? (resting in shade of climbing plant outside my side door). I would presume if so the eyes turn blue later. Migrant Hawker is more common round here but doesnt have those yellow spots on the thorax?

When I take shots with ISO800 it looks like when you turn the TV on but don't have the antenna connected.
Great shot, I love seeing those details around the wing attachments. I think NR removes a little of the detail around the eye and also the hair. I generally use more noise removal in bokeh and dark areas.

interesting, i'm not sure you can be selective in Neat Image though of course you can do that in Photoshop's 'despeckle' command.

I agree with Brian. Amazing lack of noise for such high speeds. You must be amazed and pleased with your new camera. by the way, good captures.

RM - no, not a common hawker, its an immature Southern Hawker - without further pics of a back full length view, it would only be guessing as to whether its male or female. The two wide antehumeral stripes on the thorax is one of the things to look for to ID it.

Nice shots RM!, Neat image can be used selectivly in PS. I use either the lasso tool, or the magic wand tool to outline the subject, then right click and click "select inverse" this selects the background, then run neat image. Of course you have to have NI set up as an add on to PS. I use this method on some of my bird shots.

Very nice RM. I find the sharpening part of NI works very well also. Do you use it?
