Nice shots RM!, Neat image can be used selectivly in PS. I use either the lasso tool, or the magic wand tool to outline the subject, then right click and click "select inverse" this selects the background, then run neat image. Of course you have to have NI set up as an add on to PS. I use this method on some of my bird shots.

I see Neat Image in my PS filter selection but when I lasso an area I still get whole image shown in Neat Image.

RM - no, not a common hawker, its an immature Southern Hawker - without further pics of a back full length view, it would only be guessing as to whether its male or female. The two wide antehumeral stripes on the thorax is one of the things to look for to ID it.

Linda

thanks, appears to be an immature male. Its flown away.

It might still show the whole area in NI but I suspect it will only De-noise the selected area - think focus magic does a similar thing (ie shows the whole image but only sharpens the selected area).

Great shots RM - would never have guessed they were taken with ISO so high. Hopefully this warmer weather will allow me to get out to Hampton Wick, Bushy Park etc to get some dragons and damsels as havent been out much with my camera.
