#1 has nice colors and sharpness but I prefer it when the shadows aren't that sharp, have you tried using a flash diffuser?


Gear: Powershot S3, Raynox DCR-250 macro, Raynox DCR-2020PRO tele, CHDK for RAW-output, cardboard, paper, aluminum foil, tape, glue, an icecream pack and a little imagination :)

Great shots, I'm lovin the 2nd shot although isn't not as sharp as #1 but the composition is better.

Peacocks are superb butterflies but if you can get them against a diffuse b/g to make them pop then they can be stunning. Failing that, shoot against attractive flowers, which is what you have done in shot 2, and very nice it is too. Having said that, to shoot a basking peacock that is not occupied with feeding shows some pretty good stalking skills, so well done on that one too.

Great looking butterfly Brian I spotted one yesterday but it only had half a lower wing.
