Do these work or have I gone too far

From a Wedding last Sunday, the couple arrived in a carriage and I couldn't believe it when they told me of the abuse they'd received from motorists because they'd had to wait behind them for the last half a mile of their journey.

Anyway, selective colouring gone mad; what do you think?

i would suggest whitening her teeth a little in the second one, the first seems too dark, usually when you see selective color it isnt this big, its usually in a detail shot, its a cool thing to do but you can definetly overdue it, .

I've done a little processing on the face of the first one of the second post and replaced it with the new version, had another look at the one in the Church and have decided I'm happy with the lighting; it's dark in churches Thanks for your comments

I like it on #2, but the rest just don't work for me. However, selective coloring is VERY big with clients now-a-days, so.... they may like these alot.

Selective coloring was cool in the eighties, less so in the ninties.

In #1, the selective coloring did little more than emphasize the color cast on the dress. #2 is nice.

I'm not a fan of selective coloring, I'm afraid. It's a bit dated. But if your customer likes it, that's all that matters.

I agree with Tim.

I think selective colouring needs to be very selective to work ...... ie: bouquets, ties, button-holes, etc. Personally, I think selective colouring of whole people is too much, although it is very true to say that some clients really like it so what do I know.

What I am convinced about is that selective colouring only works with colour, not whites as they'll just look dirty against a de-saturated background.

That really wasn't the question though, the clients asked me if I could do a few for them so I said I'd have a go. The question was/is as selective colouring goes; have I gone over the top? The feed back I'm getting here seems to be yes I have, I'll tone them down a little I think.
