Hey ;)

Has anyone tried this ebay seller? im looking for a macro lens & the Sigma 50mm F2.8 is a nice lens, ive tried one in the past & it was tack sharp, 50mm is also a nice focal length for other things.

Im wondering how they can be a fair bit cheaper than anyone else, are they grey imports? refurbished stock? it says new but im always a little sceptical.

Nick :-)

I'm going to go with grey import. If you don't mind grey imports, Onestop-digital has it for more or less the same price. Personally, I've never had any problems with onestop-digital and believe them to be more reputable, but someone will probably complain about them.

49 people have reviewed onestop on google and seem satisfied.

i thought id also add that there was a large amount of sigma lenses stolen from their warehouse in june, so i suggest being vigilant. heres a link to a page with a PDF with the serials etc of all lenses stolen.

Not used them but Darlington is only down the road from where I live and I asked for possibility of local pickup on an item before and just got told. "It's not possible for local collection!"

I don't know why it's a problem to meet face to face and pay in cash? Another thing is they only give Sellers Warranty and not manufacturers warranty. How good this service will be, who knows as it the ebay feedback will have well completed by then, if you do have any issues.

Like sooty said, only a sellers warranty. I think everyone knows my opinion on this, try kerso1123@msn.com (external link)

Thanks everyone.

Yes im thinking its probably a grey import, not that I mind or care but I have heard you get problems when trying to use the warranty service.

[Sootyvrs], hmmm yes that always makes me a little weary, also I didnt pick up on the "sellers" warranty thing, im now thinking for the money saved it might be more risk involved.

Thanks guys..

Nick :-)
