[ID] Wasp

I rescued this Wasp earlier today from my windowsill - he looked a little hungry so gave i some honey which he lapped up and flew off into the sunset.

It looks quite different to the wasps i normally see - it has quite a large head - anyone have an idea what type it is ? ...

wow Brilliant shot! Not sure on what type of wasp it is tho, I have seen them before but couldn't remember the name for the life of me! Great shot tho

Great shot, this shot's been bugging me as to what it may be since you posted it 4 days ago.

I've had a good look round & the only one I can find with a yellow base to it's Antennae is this ' Square-headed wasp ' Ectemnius sp found here
