I started off being really in to DXO, its lens adjustments are great, super great. Problem is, I just can't get colours to look right, way too saturated, white balance never as good or close to DPP or Lightroom. I'm 6 days away from the end of the trial, so unless I can get around this I'll have to pass :(

Using a 5D means that I have to buy the top package which is expensive if it's not doing the job right for me.

Am I alone?

Mike

I found that DXO tends to oversaturate and overdenoise things. I strictly use it now to fix distortion and CA. Exposure/noise/sat/colors etc I tend to use other programs.

I am using DXO for 5D files to correct optics, sometimes a global exposure change,
lighting module set to medium with shadows preserved (mostly), save to DNG, then final process DNG file in LightZone for tonality. I leave the DXO color module set to "as shot", white balance as well. To my eyes, I am not getting color shifts comparing CR2 processed in LZ first versus DXO first then LZ. I use PS to final judge the resulting TIFF and may make slight white balance and or tonal balance there

Color comparisons and what looks right to one person but may not look correct to another person can be difficult to pin down - there are too many factors in the loop - different computer displays, different software, and then human eyes. For me, photography is a hobby, not commercial as yours is. Color to my eyes may not be as critical as it is to yours Mike.
