I want to return to ACR 4.1 for more adjustments after using photomerge. Is there a special format that I must use to enable me to do that? thanks

I believe it just has to be a TIFF or JPEG. To open the file in Camera Raw, choose Open in Photoshop. After picking the file you want to edit, change the format from TIFF or JPEG to Camera Raw before clicking Open and the file will open in ACR 4.1.
