Mike's Framer - cheap and easy. Search for it here or on google.

If you use photoshop it's very easy to do this.

open the image and save it as a new image (so you don't save over the original).

Press Control A (select all) and you'll see marching ants all round your image. Go to edit>stroke and add a white stroke to your image (make sure white is set as the stroke colour). If it's low resolution a few pixels will be enough. if it's a high res image the size of the stroke may need to be bigger (have a play to see what works).

Also make sure the stroke is set to "inside" so you get nice sharp corners.

Next go to image>canvas size and add a black canvas around your image (say 1" or 2" or whatever size you want the image to be.

this should get you closae but I can explain better when I sit in front of the PC.

All that is too much trouble.

Go to Image / Canvas Size and increase the size by X pixels (or percent) with a white background.

Then go back to Image / Canvas Size and increase the size by 3X pixels (or percent) with a black background.

Since you have not created a new image, all the exif data is still present.

See how easy. No layers, no strokes, no selecting, no masks and no paying Mike!

do you mean to manually type the EXIF data?

in Mike's script, you don't have to

Not sure how to add the exif info to an image as I've never done that. Would be interested to know too.
