These are showing a bit much skin for senior portraits. I also think the crops are too tight. She's very pretty though.

For artistic reasons, dammit. The symbolism is quite evident. She's "blossoming" into womanhood. Fast. With a bang. Or maybe more like a pop.

It's art, I swear. Can't you see my black turtleneck?

Let us know how Mom & Dad like them.

The first shot is nicely done, but looks more like a promo shot for a stripper.

Curtis; where are these shots? Aw, never mind. I still say this is a bit much for a senior. Maybe a college girl myspace page, but not for high school.

On the rest of the image content; I like the lighting and the pose, but I'm not so sure on the conversion. Can you post the original?

yeah. post originals, size and all ;)

it's not too much cleavage, it's too little shirt. light colored shirts with dark colored bras were my favorite in HS. loved those girls...

Digital Rebel, Sigma 18-50mm 2.8, Canon 50mm 1.8, Sigma EF-500 DG ST (flash), Some generic macro/fisheye, and a home-made remote control that looks like a 4 year old with a soldering iron and a long phone cord made it

About the cleavage, yeah. We set up our session via email, so I had no idea what she would look like. When she showed up.... whoa. That's what she wore and Mom and little sis were there the whole time. She's not a bad girl, she's just built that way :)

I see more and more high school age (and younger:rolleyes:) girls dressing in a fashion unheard of in the last generation, so this doesn't seem over the top to me. However, you might want to clone out the sliver of cup that is showing. She seems a little "thicker" on top as well (which may explain the crop you chose), but overall very comfortable with herself and her image. I make it a habit to have my clients try to bring in some of the competition's brochures and samples (depending on the shoot, I'll even discount for it) and there are a good deal of studios that don't shy away from the down-the-blouse/cleavage-friendly type of image (yet another reason to have a parent along!) and I haven't heard a lot of backlash.

Why yes, I DO shoot people—and they pay me well for it.:D
