Battimamzelle C&C Welcomed. Macro Newbie

Hey guys, I've been browsing around here and loving the macro section for a while now so finally I'm getting into it myself.
Trinidad has lots of fantastic fauna and flora so I'd appreciate some critic of my first real efforts to capture some Dragonflies or, as we call them in Trindad & Tobago "Battimamzelles"

GEAR
Canon Rebel 300D
28-105mm USMII
Opteka 10X Macro Adapter
Canon Speedlite 380EX Flash
and Some CS sharpening

I know they're a bit soft so I'd love to hear how I can make these shots better and sharper with the gear I used.

Wow you seem to get such great colours and backdrops etc. but the sharpness is lacking= GET a macro lens lol- you would get amazing shots with one from looking at these.

I like to think of a good quality shot/print in this order...Lens, Lighting, Camera, knowledge in Photoshop(toning the levels, color correcting, sharpening) and printing experience ...if you plan on printing that is.
