Call me mad if you like, but I attempted it at f/2.8.
Missed focus by a significant amount, but I liked the composition of it...

weka2000 Is that a 300mm in your pocket?  More info | Great shot for first attempt. I feel for you as I was out yesterday trying to shoot swallows in flight. Came home with a sheep photo instead
