Best paper for Canon S900 printer and D30

Just bought the D30 and the Canon s900. Looking to start cranking out the pics but wanna get the best glossy paper. Which is best? Is it better to buy a Photo Quality Glossy Paper C size (17x22") and cut them into 4x6's myself? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I believe 8X11 is as large as the s900 will work with. Are you sure you don't have the s9000?

I have the S900. Just wondering if anyone had success with buying the larger paper, and cutting it down to 4x6 on a paper cutter. I have noticed its a lot cheaper to do it that way.

Example-
Around here, I could buy Kodak Ultima precut to 4x6. 20 sheets for $9.99. 50 cents a sheet

Or

Buy 20 large 17x22 pieces. Cut them up to 4x6's, giving you roughly 240 4x6's at about 25 cents a piece.

Just wondering how people print. What they use.

For low-cost paper Office Depot Premium High Gloss works well. For best quality I use Ilford Galerie (Classic Pearl and Smooth Pearl), and yes, I buy the large paper and cut it to size.
Kodak Ultima works very well on my HP 1220 but not so well on my S9000.

I'm also very happy with the Ilford Galerie range on my S9000. The Smooth types are the fastest drying paper I've ever tried, whilst the Classic range need more drying time (1-2 hours seems fine) but have better saturation.

There has been a 2 for 1 special offer on Ilford paper at a chain in the UK, so I haven't felt the need to buy big and cut down.

I recently bought a Canon S820 and my first print was with Kodak paper and its was a disaster. It was pointed out in another forum that Canon S820s don't like Kodak paper. I switched to both Canon and Epsom papers and they have been brilliant. Of course the 900 may be different but I doubt it.

Thats my two Aussie cents worth.

Kodak recommends setting the Canon S800, S900 & S9000 printers to plain paper settings on their website (Kodak Paper Settings). You get reasonable results and save a great deal of ink. For great quality at a reasonable price, my personal favorites for my S800 are either Jet Print Pro or Konica QP.
