These are the latest images from this evening..I find them absoutley fascinating. All shot hand held with the tamron 90mm. My son was at home with mum which made it much easier to get the shots;)

I'm starting to get addicted to dragonflies too...I'm getting bored of the regular bugs and see dragonflies as a challenge. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of places around here with dragonflies - where do you normally go to shoot?

Great series. #4 showing off the wings in all their glory and #5 for the composition, are my favourites.

A very good set of shots. You have there a female ruddy darter and in #4 the female broad bodied chaser - for the broad bodied chaser, you should submit it as a record for the online survey that is taking place on this species this year. A good photo to submit and it will also verify your sighting.

They certainly are a challenge but real beauties to watch and photograph.

Very nice set. Thanks Linda for that records info. I'll fish out the shot I took at my local reserve in May.

I have found quite a few on some local grassland near my house, which is where all of these shots were taken. Weve had severe flooding here recently which meant all the local streams and rivers are no go areas.
