Lightroom and Cropping, Need Help Please!

Help Lightroom gurus ------ Ok, I can't figure this out. The process is probably so simple that I can't figure it out.

I want to crop an image 1:1 or 2:1 in Lightroom. I import the image, put in in the workspace, and use the crop tool. So far no problem. However, I want an exact 100% 1:1 or 200% 2:1 crop for example from the exact center of the image.

I know how to expand or contract or draw the the crop box, however, I want the exact crop Lightroom gives you when you use 1:1 or 2:1 viewing tool.

I don't want to have to expand or contract the crop tool/box and have to guess everytime. My eyes are not that good, and when cropping a thousand images or so, it gets old real quick.

I want to push the button, have the image cropped 1:1 or 2:1 and use that exact result for the crop. I have tried every combination and can't figure it out. Can this be done in Lightroom or not. And please don't tell me to use CS3, I know how to do that. Thanks!

To my knowledge this is not possible to do in LR.

Agreed that this is not possible. As soon as you select the crop tool you are stuck with Fit Image as your viewing choice.

When I crop in LR, after I select the crop tool I minimize all tool bars. It's not a perfect solution, but it does help.

You can also press L twice to go lights out and see only the image. My favorite way for creative cropping.

If your photos are all the same size, you can set up the crop exactly as you like it, and then save it as a preset. When you save the preset, make sure you have all the boxes unchecked except crop. You can then apply the preset to a single image or group of images and it will crop exactly as you have set up.
